An mRS of 0-2 is often used as the primary endpoint for a "good clinical outcome" in acute stroke trials (e.g., assessing the benefit of tPA or mechanical thrombectomy).
Limitations
It is highly subjective with significant inter-rater variability, though structured interviews have been developed to improve reliability.
